Russian packing specialist Agropak plans to take advantage of emerging fruit and vegetable production with a series of processing and packing solutions. The St. Petersburg-based company, whose slogan is «a fresh approach to packing», offers solutions for a range of products, including carrots, beetroot and potatoes.
The company produces equipment for the processing and packing of potatoes, vegetables and fruit, as well as a wide range of packaging materials including nets, raschel bags, polyethylene and paper packs, among other solutions.
As sales director Pavel Malishev explains, the firm provides its Russian clients with a number of related services, including packaging design, equipment servicing and the bespoke engineering projects.
Based primarily in St.- Petersburg, Agropak also operates offices in Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Gomel, Kiev, Novosibirsk and Samara, and opened a new office in the city of Rostov-on-Don in May this year.
In product terms, Mr. Malishev says the company recently debuted a new optical grader in the market, which he claims offers a «unique» solution for the sorting and grading of potatoes. As they go through the system, potatoes are rotated through three chambers, which photograph the tubers up to 40 times.
The received information, explains Mr. Malishev, allows packers to distinguish the exact length, diameter and the condition of the surface of a given potato.
In addition, he reveals Agropak recently launched two other specialist sorting machines in the Russian market – one for potatoes and a second that can work with carrots, beetroot and potatoes.
